Perfect for confident beginners, this class will guide you step-by-step through working with cork and faux leather while building essential bag-making skills. You'll learn how to cut and sew speciality materials, install a zipper, create slip pockets, and construct a polished, structured bag using professional techniques.
By the end of class, you'll walk away with a beautiful, custom organizer- and the confidence to tackle more advanced projects!
Supply List:
- Sallie Tomato Smith Pattern
- 1/3 yd of 25" wide faux leather
- 1/2 yd 25" wide high quality cork
- 1/4 yd 58" wide Bosal in-R-form
- 1/2yd 3/4" fold over elastic
- #3 or #5 coil 11" single slide zipper
- Poly 40wt thread to match your project
- Sewing clips
- Basting tape or glue
- Erasable fabric pen
- Assortment of sharps/microtex needles in sizes 75/11-90/14
- 1/4" presser foot

Registration Deadline May 20, 2026
Sewing Machine Rentals available for $25/session. Reservations must be made in advance of class through A Clean Stitch Sewing Center.
Students may cancel up to 1 week before class for a store credit equal to the cost of the class. Any cancellations after 1 week before class will NOT be refunded.
Late registrations may be available and are at the discretion of the shop in coordination with the instructor. Please contact A Clean Stitch Sewing Center for late registration inquiries.
