Summer Solstice Mini Retreat
Midsummer has past and the days are getting shorter, but that just means we have entered the "quilting season". Let's kick off the late summer and early fall with a Summer Solstice Mini Retreat. This shop hosted retreat features Quiltworx Certified Instructor Vida Anderson teaching a 4 day retreat style workshop. It's perfect for all skill levels including those who have never paper pieced before.
Choose from a SMALL or LARGE version of this classic Quiltworx pattern - Summer Solstice and make a lone star quilt.
Quilt Size Options: 38" x 38" finished or 58" x 58" finished
Available kits come in either the small or large size and include the pattern, foundation papers and fabrics to complete the quilt including the binding.

Kits are custom cut and must be ordered to ensure ample time to cut before the event. Kit cost is in addition to the Retreat Cost of $150.

Retreat Schedule:
Day 1 - Thursday, September 11 - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
We will begin with a lesson on the basics of foundation paper piecing the Quiltworx way and you will have time to finish last minute prep of your kits. Kits will be available for pick up beginning August 25, 2025 prior to the class and there will be a private video link for each participant on how to prepare your kits for class. To make the most of your time it is recommended that all papers, templates and fabrics be cut and prepped prior to class.
Day 2 & 3 - Friday, September 12 - Saturday, September 13 - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
We will continue working and learning. Vida will be on hand to help and along the way you will learn the following techniques:
- Strip Piecing to Create Your Lone Star
- Curved Piecing
- Floating Points
We will begin assembling our quilts and learn the techniques for doing so. How much you complete will vary depending on your experience and skill level.
***Snacks and drinks will be provided during the retreat and we will break for lunch each day. A sack lunch is recommended, but there are fast food options conveniently located to the shop.

Sewing Machine Rentals available for $25/session. Reservations must be made in advance of class through A Clean Stitch Sewing Center.
Students may cancel up to 1 week before class for a refund in the form of a store credit equal to the cost of the class. Any cancellations after 1 week before class will NOT be refunded.
